C-4 Kings Crown

"Green period print fabric with a ditsy yellow cross was repeatedly used for leaves in most of the quilt’s blocks, indicating that the fabric was speci´Čücally purchased new for this purpose." ...Neva Hart

At first glance, this block appeared to be a bit tricky to assemble.
Once I took the time to number the order of pieces however, it really wasn't.
Here is how I approached/assembled this block.....

First,I stitched all the top leaves individually. Second, I treated the lower 4 leaf sections as if they were ONE whole piece. Third, I stitched the top 2 leaves of each mid-section down - also treating them as ONE piece.

Next, I added the flower tubes and then stitched the 2nd pair of mid-section leaves down. (again treating the pair as one piece)

The central stems were added next and then the flowers.

I chose to make the flowers in 2 pieces rather than follow the pattern.
I did this just to dress them up a bit.

The curved base pieces were added to complete the block.

Thank You for your continued support and for sharing this quilt journey with us!

We will publish our mid-month Show and Tell post on Monday the 17th of October. You can share your block pictures by emailing your photo's to us, posting them on our facebook page HERE, or adding your blog links and photo's to the end of the mid-month posts.
